Fuel Mixture? was Cold Start Problem- Last Chapter(I Hope)
Seems that fuel mixture was the cause of (or last remaining cause of) my
cold start / warm up problem. Started the car this morning (86 4KCSQ). First
a short stumble, then a surge to 1400 RPM and immediately settling at 1200
RPM. Soon thereafter dropped to a smooth 1000 RPM. I would probably attribute
the stumble to a lack of CSV assistance. That is my next shot, although I am
really happy that I have gotten to this point. Bentley mentions everything
but fuel mixture when troubleshooting this type of problem. Leaky CSV / Leaky
Injector / Improper Idle setting / pressure plate not moving freely / warm up
enrichment function not functioning properly are among the items they suggest
to look at.
Have been checking CSV which does not seem to be doing anything. I suspect
the Thermo Time Switch. Is there anything I need to watch out for when
removing the TTS from the back of the head on my I5. Fluid loss or anything
like that? Usually TTS goes in a coolant line - right?
Thanks to everyone for the 2 months of assistance on this bitch of a problem.
