HELP! Window won't go up!

Thanks to all who responded on this post!

I did the regulator test as outlined in the bentley manual. The power wire
going to the switch for up was bad (no voltage). So, given a few hints from
listers, I followed this wire all the way into the door jam and sure enuough...
It was broken in half! This was the culprit. I put in a crimp connector and
it works now. Window goes up and down.

BTW, Any of you with an older Audi should check this area. I had this one
wire which was completely broken, and a few others that look like they are
about to go. The sheathing is broken on a few already, and I need to go back
in there and eventuallt solder in new pieces and heat shrink. This looks like
a common weakpoint in the Audis (at least the type 44's).

Thanks again for all those who responded. It cost me $0.43 and a little
bit of time to fix versus me jumping to conclusions and ordering a new window
regulator. Thanks again!

   Later,
   Dan
