More on 90q- dash lights not working...
First, thanks to all who replied. I've since checked all grounds I could
find- everything seemed tight. I then proceeded to take out the dash unit-
and found myself clueless. There seems to be no way of getting all the
instruments off and re-soldering the contacts- the intrument units seem to
be crimped on. The whole assembly feels quite shaky and I'm not really
comfortable taking it apart even further for fear of breaking anything
beyond repair. My Bentley doesn't include the electric troubleshooting
part, nor does any of the other manuals in my collection.
I've been disassembling, cleaning and reassembling the dash at least three
times, and the last time I had everything in its place again, the dash
lights worked... for at least thirty seconds. I've therefore come to the
conclusion that the likely culprit is a loose contact, and because all
lights went out when I touched the dash it's likely to be in the dash unit
itself.
Looks like I'm hosed- I'll likely have to buy a new unit...
