89 200tqa - ground location?

Hi. I've just begun to notice that the voltage on my new wagon
fluctuates. Sometimes the voltmeter shows 14 volts approx, other times
its on 12, while driving. I had earlier attributed this to lights etc
being on, but this evening, I had everything on, and it was well past
the 12v mark. This is probably what is causing my battery to die
periodically.

The blue wire is connected to the alternator, BTW.

So, I started looking for grounds. Scott's site mentions a ground on the
driver's side engine mount.

quoted from SJM's site:
"The other main ground cable is in the engine compartment, on the
drivers side (US), down below the engine mount. The braided copper
ground cable is bolted to the engine mount alloy bracket, and then over
to the body/frame near the engine mount. There is a cluster of other
smaller ground wires connected at this point as well."

For the life of me, I cannot find this. I've found 1 loose wire *above*
the mount, which looks like it should go to the ABS pump unit (not
working). But no other ground wire in the vicinity. Nor have I found
any places that look like mounting points on the frame or the mount
bracket. The brake bomb is supported by a bracket with 3 bolts down
there, is the ground wire meant to attached to this bracket?

Thanks in advance. BTW, I lubed the cruise control links, and the acc.
pedal hinge with HHS 2000, but nothing looked like it was binding. I'll
probably change the bushing too. Samir.
