a story
about prices.
bob mails the q-list with a car for sale.
bob responds with his price in private email.
bob gets pretty seriously flamed - and bob is
a new lister, who joined to help sell the car.
some of us think it is woth the asking price.
the flames convice bob that he's asking too much,
and that selling it is hopeless, despite a few
of us telling him his price is fair.
bob eventually sells it to a specialty dealer
for way, way, less that he wanted for it.
within a couple days, jane calls bob looking
for the car, not at the original price, but at
a fair price, signifigantly more than he just
sold the car for.
bob's bummed.
a "community" just screwed him over, for no reason
at all, not even for selfish personal gain. he
was screwd by a people being assholes, just for
the hell of it. this will cost jane that special
car she was after, or cost her much more than
she could have had it for (she may go to the dealer).
real nice, y'all. the nameless individuals ( i do
not even know who they are) just cast at least one
person several thousand dollars - as i understand
the story. anyway, i hope those individuals feel
nice and proud. karma/dharma will prevail, it
always does.
sorry for the cussing, but a spade is a spade.
