In the Hot Seat ??
I know this is the wrong season, but trying to get my seat heaters working. I
hate when things don't work.
Heres the deal - 86 4KCSQ
Originally thought the problem was the switch / relay. One relay clicked, the
other did not. Drivers seat ( the one with the clicking relay) got hot once
or twice, but not consistently, so I was unsure where the problem was.
Today, decided to begin with the switch. Not only did I get BOTH relays to
click, but both seats got hot, not completely (in all areas). Now I really
suspect the switch as the elements seemed to be conducting heat and heat
seemed unaffected by switch setting. At one point I heard an electrical
crackling from under the dash. Could this have been the ground? I know there
is a ground behind the dash. Is this my problem? Anyone know where the ground
is?
Now both relays click and both seats are cold. Any way to bypass / jumper the
switch for testing? Checked the fuse - looks OK. Relays click with fuse
removed, for whatever that is worth. Can anyone point me in the right
direction? I really want the seat heaters to work.
TIA,
Jeff
