alignments and the freinds who love them

Just to start a little different thread I thought I might open a discussion
regarding alignments. I was experiencing some understeer in the turbo over
the last month and decided to get it aligned today. WOW what a difference.
The car is so much more balanced and has MUCH more overall grip. I had 1
degree of negative camber put in and that makes sense why, but what about
the other settings? I have been on this list almost 4 years and I have yet
to hear an in depth discussion regarding alignment specs and using them to
maximize performance/balance.

So in that vain I would like to open a discussion/debate to explore what
settings do what and how can we use them to our advantage.

Question 1: How does toe effect handling?
2: Is 0 deg of toe the best for tire wear(only) or is there something I am
not thinking about?
3: What should be done differently f/r to optimize balance?
4: What about camber f/r? Should it be done different?

Any other fact/figures to explain what should be done to optimize
performance or just everyday driving.
