Craig

I would think you shouldn't have a problem rewiring it that way.  The
 only draw back is the the Audis do not have a accessory position on the
 Ign switch.  You will not be able to have the radio on without the car
running.  
I plan on wiring my radio up to the power window/sun roof power.
The reason for this is on my 89 200TQ that power source stays hot until
you open and close your door after.  This way I can have the radio on
until I leave the car.  I have a aftermarket radio so the ON/OFF lead
uses minimal power.  I wonder if anybody else has done it this way?
