Re: power steering fluid for 98 a6q?

Potentially harmful advice! If you're not aware of the fact, please be
advised that there are _different_ types of Pentosin hydraulic fluid
available. And they're not equivalent--although there is mixed opinion as
to which ones go to what Audi models and why (or why not). The archives are
full of Pentosin discussion. The power steering fluid that Audi currently
is overcharging for--under the alias "G 002 000" --is called Pentosin 11S
(synthetic). On a late-model Audi, use anything else such as Pentosin 7.1
(readily-available-in-a-white-can-with-green-labelling) at your own risk!

Please, fellow listers, when it's something as important as hydraulic
fluid, let's be cautious (or precise) before yielding to that admirable
urge to "share".
