apologies in advance...
With apologies to Ogden Nash, perhaps the following can help avoid a
lengthy speculative thread on tire engineering and design.
After reading, everyone please groan deeply, and refrain from
responding...
It's the coefficient of friction,
(a mathematical fiction).
that determines when a tire begins to skid,
And ignoring snow and water,
the tread shape shouldn't ought'er,
influence what the tire ever did.
It's material that matters,
while your tire pitter-patters,
over all those tiny bumps upon the road,
And the contact patch depends,
on the weight and tire pressure,
that in turn sets the parameters of the load.
Sorry,
