TT spotted/Re: Spoiled...

I saw a black TT parked in Deerpark shopping center yesterday (which is
where we have the Thanksgiving q-list event every year, about 45 minutes
from Laguna Seca Raceway). I saw several people do double takes as I
walked up to it. I can say I prefer Silver, but Lisa likes the black.
Anyway another Audi fan struck up a nice conversation with me about it.
He was wondering if it was a quattro, liked the looks etc. He left, and
I saw the owner come out of the store with groceries. "Nice car, are you
a quattro lister?" Blank stare follows. OK, most people don't know what
the q-list is. How about "Are you going to go to the Monterey Historics
this year? Audi is the featured marque." (I know, it's Auto Union, but
have to make it understandable.) "Uh, maybe." in a very unexcited "I'm
to cool to talk to you" voice.

Whatever. If he does go I hope he's parked way out in the north forty
because he doesn't have one of the 300 coral passes that he could have
learned about from me if he'd been a little friendlier.

BTW, one bad apple does not spoil the whole bunch. Later that same day I
talked to a guy with a new blue A4 avant at a gas station while I was
fueling the 5kcstq. He had some nice Thule (I think) bars on his roof
rails. He related a story of how Saturday night he was driving on HWY
152 (very curvy and fun) when he came upon a dog in the middle of the
road and successfully swerved around it at high speed. He was very
impressed with the handling and a happy q owner. He also now knows about
the Historics and the coral passes.
