THANKS PROBLEM SOLVED Oh no think its the fuel pump on my 86 4kq

All,

Tony Lum came up with the solution. An I have to say that I am surely
embarrassed. While the relay was bad, I had removed one of the fuses
from the side of the fuse box the one for the F.I. ecu. As you can well
imagine she was not going to run w/o that one. All these years I have
stored spare fuses in these slots and had never realized that one was
live. Guess I have been lucky so far. I humbly submit to the list for
the idiot repair award of the month. And as penance will send Dan 1/2
of the projected savings from not having to take it to my mechanic. Who
gives me major shi* every time I do something dumb. My guess is I would
have been charged for 1/2 hour of labor (thanks god my guy is honest)
that's about $40.00. The q lists share $20.00

Thanks all,

JJS

Did you accidentally pull a fuse that runs parallel to the edge of the
fuse
box. If so, that was the fuse for the F.I. ecu. Doesn't run too well
without that.
