RE: frozen rear calipers on 200q
Hi Mike, et al,
My mechanic (and he is great, I don't mean to say he isn't) has had nothing
but frustration with the rear calipers of Audi's. THe emergency brake pivot
is always seizing! I am encouraged that someone is talking about... a. a
rebuild kit? and b. a rebuild procedure with a way to free up and relube
the pivots.
My rear calipers work fine but they the emergency brake handle seems to have
increasing slack from the sticky pivots. I have always thought of drilling
the caliper housing for a grease fitting at the area where the pivot
penetrates the housing. I thought I could load up a grease gun with some
caliper friendly stuff and give it a goob once in a while to fix the
problem.
Does this sound doable??????
