I don't think you can solder the wires on most sensors.  I've tried, and
the wires are made of a metal that doesn't take solder (aluminum?).  I've
had good luck putting male/female "torpedo" type round connectors on the
wires.  The OX sensor can then be disconnected when the need arises
(changing trans filter on the V8 etc.)
