the 99.5 A4 is already the 'restyle' updated car and has all the S4 styling
tweaks.  and there is no way that Audi is replacing the meat-and-potatoes 1.8T &
2.8 A4 models with just the S4.  those things are the gravy train for them now,
and if the price jumped by 50%, they wouldn't be selling nearly as many.  big
difference between the old S4/6 niche cars and the mainstream runaway success A4.

on the other hand, seeing as how we haven't had an S car in years, and hardly
ever had the Urq, i would agree that there's reason to doubt how long the S4 will
be around.  not surprisingly, probably depends on how many of us buy them...

you are also right, this restyle is the prelude to an A4 model replacement/update
coming in a couple of years, but it all depends on how long you want to wait and
that's still a few years away.
