How to disable the DRL on an S6

Below is an elegant and nondestructive way of doing this. No wires to
cut. Ain't Bentley great...

To disable the low beam portion of the DRL:

1. Remove the top half of the steering column cover clamshell (two deep
recessed screws on either side and one in the centre of the bottom half
clamshell).
2. Remove the 14-pin black connector on the left side directly behind
the headlights combo switch.
3. Carefully slide the purple latch which holds the wires in their nests
by 2-3mm to the side. It has one ratcheting talon on either side. Be
careful, don't let the wires jump out of their nests all at once.
4. Remove the 2.5 sq.mm YEL/WHT wire from the nest in the position #1.
5. Snap the purple latch back in place.
6. Insulate the bare contact of the YEL/WHT wire with a piece of heat
shrink tubing.
7. Reassemble the steering column clamshell.

To disable the parking lights portion of the DRL:

8. Open the main underhood relay/fuse box and remove the relay #7 (top
row, 4th from the left).

Enjoy the new found ability to work on the electricals of your car with
the prolonged "ignition-on" condition without draining the battery.

Oh, and did I mention that you can now also enjoy driving your car
without the idiotic DRLs?
