Re: Women and the road

Fellow Auto Unionists,

Can't we all just agree that the title "Bad Driver" transcends all age,
color, creed, orientation, race, and sex? And what if I turn the
argument around: What constitutes a "Good Driver?" Don't quote me that
"white male between the ages of 25 and 50"statistic, because we know that
can't be true. There is no set "mold" in this case, as with most things
in life. I've seen timid male Porsche drivers, reckless soccer mom's
barreling down the freeway at 90mph in child-laden minivans, older ladies
and gentlemen with perfect driving skills, young men in pick `em up
trucks doing their hair, white guys in lowrider ghetto cruisers, straight
guys owning and driving white VW Cabriolets with cow seat covers, and
female racers that beat the stuffing out of the guys in illegal drags
night after night. Hey, how many black guys do you know that are Audi
enthusiasts? Well, at least one. [8^) In general, I've found that
making all-emcompassing statements are a narrow-viewed mistake. We all
get mad at stereotypes every once in a while, but let's try to work
beyond that, OK? It makes for a healthier discussion forum when you
don't single out a certain group to blame all the worlds' problems on.

Love, Like, or Just Plain Tolerate,

Timothy
