Re: 87 5KCStq w/250 kmi

= Mechanically excellent. Color: mahogany brown mettallic.Body has lotsa
door dings, cracked windshield. Clearcoat is going on hood and roof.
Runs great, 1.8 bar. Engine rebuilt by PO at 160K. Hydraulics completely
rebuilt/replaced - no leaks at all (finally!), front suspension redone -
all new, incl Delrin subframe bushings, Eibachs (all around), tie rods
(complete, not just ends), control arms, rebuilt sleeved rack, new strut
bearings/bushingsn new outer CV boots, new AC blower, rebuilt AC
compressor, AC manifold replaced with a tested non-weeper. 5th cylinder
exhaust stud broken - quiet when warmed up. All metal CFS radiator, BBS
basket wheels, 90K on fuel pump.
Tan/alcantara interior (sport seats) with spare sport seat covers thrown
in as the wife is getting tired of looking at them. New rotors come in
the trunk, along with new rear pads. One lug is stripped in the back
(passenger side), new hub comes in trunk. AC controller rebuilt approx 1
year back. External VR for alternator - modified 14.2V 120A alternator
avail if you want for extra bucks. I'm taking the Sony stereo out,
Kenwood indash CD avail if you want - I'll even leave the extra amp and
custom Xover setup in the trunk.
Blows no smoke and hauls butt. Currently parked as I am driving the 89.
Pulled some hoses, etc off while troubleshooting the 89, would take me
an hour to get it running. Plenty of listers saw the car last July at
Pikes Peak - it ran 110 mph all the way across Kansas at the front of
the pack. It has 100 eurolites and a Kamei grill surround in front and a
Kamei spoiler in back - both ordered from Germany at the time.
I'd prefer it go to someone that wants a driver/track car, but it would
make a fine basis for a 4Ktq also, and there's enough new/newer parts in
there to recoup 90% of your investment. The only reasons I replaced it
were 1) paint and bodywork to my satisfaction would have run $3K - not
worth it on a car 12 years old, and 2) I always wanted pearl white
anyways, and 3) I prefer the 89 up interior styling.
