Tire Replacement for S6

I noticed (and the Audi dealer confirmed) that the original Dunlop
225/50/ZR16 tires on original wheels on my 95.5 S6 are worn almost to
the wear bars. I noticed last summer that on roads with standing water I
must slow down to avoid aquaplaning. I have 55k km on the car.

I use the car everyday (approx 20k km/year), much more in the summer and
once every two years at QCUSA track events. I have 15 inch steel wheels
with snows for the 6 month winter in Nova Scotia.

At several tire shops, I've received lots of (mostly conflicting) advice
about replacement tires. Can anyone provide support on recommended make,
model and (maximum?) size tires?

Would you suggest a 4 wheel alighment at the same time?
