A/C No Work

My A/C has decided to go caput on me now too!  All it does when turned on
is make the cooling fans run and some sort of relay or switch underneath
the dash click on and off continually.  The fans stay on at a constant
rate, but the clicking is intermittent, on / off, on / off...  Any
suggestions?  Maybe needs freon, new hose?  Never had any problems until
now, and worked super well, so well it spat ice chunks at me, and made
clouds when I accelerated hard.  Thanks again!
