'87 5KTQ engine problems

	Started to Nashville this morning, didn't get there. The engine kept 
dropping back to a no-power situation. It acted as if there was only one or 
two cylinders getting fuel/spark. Accelerator position made no difference. 
Then, for whatever reason, it would clear up and run fine for a few minutes. 
Then go back to no-power. The problem cropped up at all engine speeds (one 
time at idle at the traffic light, then a couple times at 2500 r/m in fifth 
gear, once in third at 3300 r/m, etc.)

	Anybody seen anything like this before? If not, any possibilities in 
mind? 

	The car is not trustworthy or safe, so can't be driven until I get 
this fixed.
