V8 Electric Auxiliary Fan

This is the fan that is supposed to come on automatically,
turned on by a thermoswitch, fast or slow depending on
coolant temperature (to paraphrase the owner's manual).
After a timing belt change the other day, this fan is no
longer coming on at all, with resulting elevated temp gauge.

Any suggestions as to cause/fix? Will the codes accessible
through the climate control buttons be of any help? (As is
no doubt obvious, I'm no mechanic. I'll be passing along
suggestions to the guy who did the timing belt job.)
