... you know, that outrageously priced plastic replacement for the lower
radiator shroud isn't really all that complicated.  I'd never really thought
about it before, but it sure seems like a quick run to somewhere like TAP
plastics could get you the material that would be needed, and you could use
an existing plastic one as a template.  It seems as though oftentimes all
that remains of the old lower shroud is that metal piece that attaches the
shroud to the rubber bushing that holds the bottom of the radiator ... which
could be reused for the new one.  I've got a plastic lower shroud on the QTC
at home.  I don't know when I'd be able to get to pulling the thing off, but
I could do that (Todd P also has a slightly mangled plastic shroud on his
ur-q) ... if there was some interest we should be able to build a package of
info that would let people with 4kqs and ur-qs (perhaps even 4ks and Coupe
GTs) build their own plastic lower shroud.
