VW showed a convertible version of the Concept One show car before,
and there are rumours that it will become a production model.  Until
then, there is a company that offers a conversion of the New Beetle
into a convertible.  The company name escapes me at the moment, but this
was prominently featured in an article in European Car magazine some
months ago.  I haven't seen the "Shag" movie but if the convertible
bug you mention is based on the New Beetle, then it's probably one
of these conversions.
