100CSQW Speaker problems

The rear speakers on my '93 wagon aren't working properly.  Have very faint sound on both tweeters, and weak on base speaker in left door, with no response on base speaker in right door.  Had dealer look into it when car was in for injector recall and they said problem was in the radio.  Waited for exchange radio to show up.  Service rep. did exchange (no charge) but same problem, so didn't buy the exchange radio.  Question is, how to get the right rear door panel off.  Rep. mentioned prying/popping cover off of door handle to get at screws.  Was wondering if anyone out there has been through this drill, and has any insight into how to get panel off without mucking it up, or breaking all the clips that hold it on.
Also, is there an amp with the rear speaker.  this is the non-Bose gamma sound system.
