We have just changed the schedule and added some new activities.
   Message from the Secretary

Race tracks are a good thing and your Audi Quattro is an amazing
machine. Join us as we work with the Porsche Owners Club and share Seven
events this year, and see just what a fabulous car you own.  Many of you
are newcomers to track events, and some of you are consummate veterans.
If this is your first time, please do not be shy about participating.
You will wear a little rubber off your tires, but overall these are safe
events that are well organized and disciplined. Your driving skills will
probably improve dramatically with each event you attend.  For you
die-hards out there, this is a chance to exercise that raging beast
inside of you and in your garage!

Here are the basic guidelines. You must attend a minimum of 2 POC
Slaloms before attending POC Cup Races or Time Trials, or have attended
and been certified in track schools (and have the certificates to prove
it) prior to POC timed events.
POC will send you all necessary paperwork and requirements (Helmets,
tech inspection, etc.) when you call them (310-784-5653). Just tell them
you are with the Quattro Club, and which event you are interested in.
The cost is reasonable and the fun is outstanding.  This is an exciting
development for our chapter.

August 27-29, 1999, One last reminder, Audi will be celebrating 100
years of engineering excellence, and is the featured marque at the
Monterey Historic Automobile Races, Laguna Seca Raceway.  This is a rare
and history making event. Do not miss it! Make sure to get your Hotel
reservations made now.

SOLVANG DRIVE & PICNIC     & Weinfest!


Attention Audi Quattro Club’ers, on Saturday July 10, we will motor up
through the mountains, along the coast, through more mountains, and wind
up at the famous Fess Parker Winery, north of Solvang. We will picnic
and smooze together as we taste the excellent wines of the spectacular
Santa Ynez Valley, all on the green and cool Winery picnic grounds.
Bring your own food, or eat lunch served by the Fess Parker Winery.
After lunch, we will drive into Solvang for Coffee and Cake at one of
the local Danish style bakeries. Lots of cute shops to visit as well for
those so inclined. Be sure to bring your better-half for this great
event.  Please bring a designated driver if you plan to wine taste.

10:15 AM
Meet Location: McDonalds, 118 Freeway, Exit Yosemite, 12.6 miles west of
the 405 and 118 junction. Meet in parking lot.
Route: 118 Freeway to 23, Exit New Los Angeles, West to 23 North to
Fillmore. West on 126 to 150 North. 150 North through Ojai, past Lake
Casitas, to 101 North. 101 North to 154 North to Foxen Canyon Road in
Los Olivos,  north to winery.  After Winery, south on Foxen Canyon and
Chalk Hill Rd. to Solvang.

October 16, MOTHER OF ALL DRIVES (MOAD)  This is a unbelievable 5 Hour
drive through the mountains of Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Louis
Obispo Counties.
This route is very scenic, tons of curves, and some marvelous straights.
Lots of altitude changes. This drive will be an experience not to be
missed!!!!!!!!
