Matt - the H-4 bulb connector is the standard, plain Jane USA sealed beam
connector as used on several zillion Chebbies, Furds, and so forth for the
last thousand years. You can get them brand new at Pep Boys, Discount Auto
Parts, etc. for a few dollars complete with leads, or if you're really
pinched for bucks, at ANY junkyard - only tools needed are a set of wire
cutters.
Whatever flavor you get, try to get the heaviest wires you can - why put in
better lights only to have skinny little wires cause voltage drop (and
melt) so your new lights are no better than your old?
Standard H-4 bulbs are the same wattage as the stock 9003 headlight bulb -
45 watts low beam, 55 or 60 watts high beam. You don't need to use relays
with these stock wattage bulbs, but is it a good idea since the headlight
wiring is marginal anyway (especially the high-low beam switch).
H-4 bulbs are available in 45/60, 80/100 and even 100/130 watts if you
REALLY want to fry the retinas of oncoming drivers - but note that the
Eurolight beam pattern is FAR superior and much better defined than the DOT
light's beam pattern, so when your laser disintegrator lights are on low
beam, they are actually less objectionable to oncoming drivers than the
standard DOT lights! When you flash to pass, however, the dimwit in the SUV
in front of you (going 50 mph in the left lane) will think someone set off
a nuclear bomb behind him - and he'll get RIGHT out of your way!!!!
You MUST use relays for these higher wattage bulbs, and they are a good
idea even for the stock power (and even the stock) bulbs.
E-mail me direct for wiring instuctions if you want to use relays - it
isn't complicated or expensive, and it makes a BIG difference!
BTW, anyone else who wants relay wiring instructions is also welcome to
ask, and I still have a few sets of brand new 5000 eurolights and corner
lights for sale (that's a hint, guys!).
Best Regards,
Mike Arman
