Subject: Stupid bet!
I bet my friend tonight.
He has a 1987 TPI Camaro IROC-Z V-8.
I have a 1987 Audi 5ks. It is Non-Q, Non-T.
The bet was that on open, straight highway, who would win the race from
80 to 110mph.
20 bucks.
He had to keep it at 110mph because of his governor.
I know my car has gone faster than this, not even approaching 5k rpms.
Who is going to win this race? (granted we don't get stopped by smokey?)
My car is stock, minus the cat. I believe his is also, minus the cat.
I know that Audis were built for top-end speed and he will beat me on
0-60 acceleration. He's done it before. OTOH, I have beat him on open
highway, w/ each of us carrying four passnegers. His top speed can't
keep up with me.
Any help is appreciated. Am I going to fourk out twenty bucks?
TVMIA,
Marty

Marty,
This should be interesting, keeping in mind that absolute top speed is a far different consideration than the time that it takes to get to that speed.
Regarding top speed, acceleration is of _no_ interest. However, in the case of your immediate finances, acceleration is of _prime_ interest.
