5 spd conversion

Converting auto to manual is a big job for the type 44. Here is a list
of the parts needed for the job.

 1. 5spd tranny with linkage, shifter and assembly that shift lever sits
in. If your car is a turbo then you need the turbo tranny. It is made
for installation of speed or rpm sensor on the left side of trans.
May need the sensor mount if diff. than auto. Check trans and
 differential gear ratios.
 2. Two manual trans. axle shafts with or without CV joints
depending
on if you want to use the old ones joints.
 3. Manual trans mounting plate (riveted on).
Placement front to rear is important.
 4. Manual trans boot cover for shifter.
 5. Flywheel and clutch assembly with crankshaft bolts.
         (Flywheel/Clutch assembly changed for 89)
 6. Input shaft Needle bearings for Crank shaft snout.
 7. Throw out bearing.
 8. Clutch/brake peddle assembly with master clutch Cyl.
 9. Clutch slave cylinder mounted on top of trans Bell hounsing.
         (May come with trans)
 10. Blue flexible brake line from brake resevoir to clutch MC.
 11. Metal short clutch MC/clutch slave cyl. line.
 12. Speedo sender for man. trans. May be different than a auto.
13.. Exhaust down pipe and Cat. are different for a man. trans.
 14. May need different heat shield for bottom of car.
 15. The Auto trans car crankshaft does not have a big enough hole for
the needle
bearings for the trans. Will have have to be drilled out or the
crankshaft
will have to be replaced with a manual trans. one.

This is pretty much what you need to convert to a 5spd manual.
I may have missed some pieces but the List will let you know.

Doing my conversion I am replacing the engine to. I used a wrecked car
to take the parts from. It made it a alot easier because you had them
right there and you weren't nickle and dimed to death buying them.

Hope this gives you a idea what is involved.
