Ur quattro engine damage

Well - I think that I might have found a little bit of sunshine.

I don't want to be driving my mothers Metro for next few weeks so I took a
look at the cheap end of the local motor ads. Tomorrow I'm going to take a
look at an 84 2.2 Coupe - GBP275, thats alot cheaper than hiring an
euro-box.
 Owner reckons that it wont idle properly until its warm, possible
thermotime switch?

GBP275 with 6 moths MoT and when thats used up the doors (with working
electric windows) and exterior trim will be ear-marked for the 81 Ur-q.
