RE: CGT Distributor

When the distributor (no vac can) in my former (last month, sold it and 
bought a quattro with the money I received from the 2wd one HAHA) 87 4000CS 
(4 cyl) went out, I replaced it with one from a VW Golf.

Yours is a 5 banger (I'm pretty sure); look for a VW Quantum (if they made 
them that year, I'm not sure).  That would be the only interchange I can 
think of.

While roaming the junkyards for my distributor, I did notice that VW/Audi 
changed the design of the distributor quite often between model years.
