windage tray compatibility...?

Just want to make certain before I buy something useless to me.  Martin
P. has passed along a tidbit that the 20V windage tray (why do I use the
phrase, I don't even know what it means?) will fit the regular old steel
oil pan on my typical 80's 5 cyl engine.

What year & model car would this be from so I can look it up?  The ones
I see in etka look like they go with cast pans and look a bit different
in shape at least at one end.

Confirmations?  Denials?  Advice?
