Code 2343
Was underneath the car today looking for an elusive rattle and squeak. I
found that the new three bolt flange that was welded on the downpipe
place of the old was loose. The copper nuts on each of the three bolts
were each a little loose, tightened them and the rattle and squeak went
away. I ran the engine to get the exhaust system hot to listen for
creaking by the bolts or anything unordinary, nothing. I didn't notice
anything strange about the idle at that time, but I decided to pull the
codes anyway. Low and behold there was a code, 2343. It means the
mixture is to lean. This causes the diff. pressure regulator's current to
go above 10mA. Now I guess the 10mA+ current can be caused by other
things, like air leaks. Anything else that could be causing the diff.
pressure regulator to run a 10mA+ current besides those two things? The
system is CIS-Motronic and can adapt to problems such as air leaks, to a
point. I will have the mixture checked tomorrow by the gas analyzer at
the shop.
Thanks again,
