Mt Washington
For those of you who couldn't/didn't attend, it was a great quattro
weekend.
Highlights from a NE quattro event firsttimer...
meeting the "voices" on both the main list and 20v list (and no we don't
need another sublist for Type 44's - can't possibly compare the need to
something so specialized as a V8 or 200 20v...) Chris, Dan, Phil, Greg,
Brett, Paul, Tom, Mark, Jim, Ed, plus or minus patient spouses etc
(incomplete and in no particular order ... ) seeing Ed Kellock pull up
in my driveway with a new-to-him V8 5speed ready to drive another 5
hours ... then seeing Ed in my rear-view at respectable speed flashing
me to pull over so we can repair the fallen under-shroud (with
shoe-laces) ... keeping the speed on I-91 to double-digits so it
wouldn't crash down again ... hearing Sprongl's super-crisp shifts going
up the mountain ... hearing the tired monotones of Paul Royal's morning
voice announcing something or other ... seeing dozens of beautifully
maintained Audis all in one place - all kinds, ages, colors,
modifications, etc... testing the Tuckerman's ... watching Pam Miller
teetering out of Chris' sunroof taking pictures as we sweep up the
mountain ... seeing the 78 year old Rutan zipping up the hill ...
learning more and more details about the care and feeding of my wagon
... the spectacular vistas from up top as seen over a row of shiny
quattros ... and more fun stuff i'm forgetting.
Thanks to all of you for making us (esp the wife and kiddies) feel
welcome. We had a blast. Where do we sign for next year?
