90 200TQW Clutch MC Questions

After running into a delay getting my wagon into a shop for the broken
pedal thing, I've decided to attack this thing myself.
My first discovery was that the dealer in Appleton WI had fitted what
appears to be a used pedal from a junkyard. That would explain how
they found one in less than 5 hours. This part could have been damaged
prior to installation in my car, so a clutch may not be needed
IMHO. The master cylinder could have started binding and further
agravated the situation as well. My clutch pedal has never seemed
heavy in this car, so I am reluctant to believe that the clutch has
gone at 92k miles. If I do all this and break another pedal, I'll
believe otherwise.
I have decided to replace the pedal with a new one from Carlsen and
also replace the clutch MC at the same time. I have been reading in
the Bentley and have found little other than the spec for the MC
extension distance. I have read before in the list about the bleeding
procedure and will have a pressure bleeder available once I get that
far.
Before I start, could someone here provide any advise on where to
disconnect the lines first to minimize the brake fluid spills? I
appears that there will be a few drops when disconnecting the MC
inside the car, but there must be better way to block it
underhood. Does anyone recommend trying to siphon off the fluid from
the reservoir before starting?

Lastly, could someone inform me of the correct URL to search the
archives? I tried to find it today without success.

Thanks,

David
