Cold start problem - UrQ
OK, I need some help here. About two weeks ago I
decided to pull the hot start relay to see if that
would help my hot start problem (don't ask why that
makes sense). About the same time the UrQ developed a
total start problem. I put the relay back in. Now when
I start it cold, it catches, dies and then requires
mucho "foot to floor" cranking to start it.
When it's hot it will start OK. When it's warm it will
be even worse than cold. It will catch, then stall and
it takes lots of tapping of the gas pedal to keep it
going. It will usually stall 5 times or so and then
judicious tapping will keep it going. At that point it
instantly idles fine and runs beautifully. It's as if
it's not getting any fuel for a while.
New parts within 2 years include injectors from Blau,
cold start injector, fuel pressure regulator, fuel
pump (which has recently started buzzing like insanely
mad bees), fuel pressure accumulator, fuel filter,
seal kit for pressure relief valve on the metering
head.
Anyone have any thoughts? Please help. I intend to
take it up Pike's Peak and I'm afraid that the high
altitude will leave me stranded at the top.
