Even then.  The problem is dash space - even a quality after-market
gauge has to be limited in size (and thus resolution) because you
have to live with the thing.  I use a 6" dial instrument with an
anti-parallax mirror.  And yes - that resolution _can_ be handy with
weird WGFV problems.
