Re: Extinction of 200 20vt <was economics of...

Did they do any body strengthening and extra support when they added the 3B
motor to the Ur-Q in europe??? I'm figureing they did and would probably
have to change some of the support structure, etc to shoehorn that motor in
that cramped engine bay. Maybee Phil can answer this one....Phil????

Too bad we never saw Ur-Qs and coupe Quattros with the 20V motor over here.
Would have been nice to have a factory original 20V Ur-Q! ;^)

But, I have to vote that I think it's terrible that '91's are being slain
for thier powerplant in lou of some 4000 with a 20V turbo motor, just
because the 200 is "too big"! Uh, makes me sick. But, if the salvage yard
owns the car, it's a free country....they can do whatever they want with it.
They can paint it Mary Kay pink if they want. It belongs to them. So, no
use complaining about it. I just hope this isn't a consistnet trend, as
clean '91's are getting harder to find and I'll be looking for one myself
SOON!

BTW, I LOVE the big cars with the 3B motor! You people have something
against a car with the structural integrity and support to offer a fast
motor AND a solid ride!? Geez, and I REALLY want to find a '91 wagon. They
truly are such a rare and special breed.

Later,
Dan
