Ed, the problem with the DOT lights is crappy (technical term: means
inferior) reflector and lens design. Adding wattage and/or brightness only
helps a little, and if you have not put relays in, the bigger bulbs will
melt your combi switch on the column. If you have put the relays in, the
plastic reflectors in the headlights will melt instead.

The only cure for this problem is a proper set of Eurolights. Not as quite
as economical as the PIAA bulbs, but they WORK!!
