Thanks Phil, for this suggestion. I pulled out the relay you suggested and cleaned
and tested it (9V battery and DVM) the relay works fine. What I then discovered is
that even with this relay removed and in fact with All the relays removed and even
with the ignition switch unplugged the symptoms remain the same.
The only thing that turns off the symptom (center console monitor lights) is by
pulling fuse #12 out of the main box. This of course only kills the symptom and not
the real fault.
I am very puzzled, any ideas??

the normal problem of the spouse being pissed
