Interesting - does this mean that there are no more used parts available in
the EU, and that everyone MUST see their friendly local factory authorized
dealer$ for EVERYTHING?

I've also read that they are serious about "anti-tampering" laws in the EU:
They have proposed engine head bolts which can be tightened one time and
the head breaks off (the shank is necked, looks a little like a coke
bottle. The lower part stays on the threaded portion, the top (hex) breaks
off at a pre-determined torque). The purpose of this is to prevent
"unauthorized persons" (read "owners") from working on their own cars and
motorcycles. How do you overhaul your engine? You drill out the old head
bolts and install new. Or rather, the dealer does it - they'll probably
outlaw drills, next.

We fought a war over here about 225 years ago over exactly this kind of
crap. If you talk real nice, some of us MAY be available on a consulting
basis . . .
