A/C questions.

Since A/C seems to be a "hot" topic (pun very much intended).

My '93 seems to NOT have a low side port for the R-134a, and as I would
very much like to check the pressure status, it would help emmensely if
someone out there knows where to look for the port, if there is one. Now
I'm assuming there should be as my understanding is that it is suicide
to attempt to fill an A/C system from the high side and I don't think
any manufacturer is egotistical enough to believe that their A/C system
won't leak.

So far from reading the posts, I have two options: 1) at the base of the
windshield, hidden under the cowling; 2) on the compressor itself, which
is buried under the V6 on the driver's side (this should be fun). I did
notice a valve on the side of the compressor, that looks like a large
valve stem for a tire (all steel), but R-134a uses a "snap-on" type
fitting for both low and high side, so I don't believe that is for
"filling".

Any help would be much appreciated.

PS__Successfully worked on my brother's Dodge Intrepid over the weekend.
Put in 12oz of R-134a into a system that was blowing nothing but hot
air, managed to get some cool air out of the system. Then he goes to the
local Pep Boys to get more freon and gets a kit that not only has a fill
hose, but a pressure gage WITH an adaptor to check the high side, all
for $40! Guess my fill hose will be collecting some dust, as I'm going
to buy that kit. I have the part number at home, if anyone is
interested.
