'91 100 Steering noise is back

After replacing the H20 pump (which was making noise & needed renewing), the 
steering noise was gone. Now a week and half later it has returned. Only when 
turning and only when driving, and usually (not always) when unwinding the 
wheel. Is more pronounced when the AC is on. Cannot reproduce in the garage. 
The liquid gold level is good and the belt is proper & tight. The bomb has 
been dead for some time if that makes a difference. At times it almost sounds 
like a bad pivot point in the suspension. Any BTDT experience. Since I can't 
reproduce it in the garage, I can't find and diagnose it. TIA.
