B.  Those 3 connectors should be able to handle the amperage draw of the 
motor without a problem.  This is a classic case of the fan on the way out 
without the normal bearing noise usually (reread) associated with them.  The 
fan will still operate, I field fixed a blown 60amp ground fuse on a 91 
200tq20vt, and it melted the plastic fuse retainer, and the fuse was non 
existent, that's some serious draw.  

Don't mess with this dan, you are on borrowed time.  Get another motor now, 
this isn't something to mess with.  I also suggest a trip to the autozone 
store for a 60amp fuse for the ground circuit, this can save your car from 
underhood fire and melted wiring harness.  Audi learned all this the hard 
way, and there is documentation of it.  Bottom Line:  You have the symptoms 
of a bad fan, and it can eat your car, at the least, your full electrical 
harness.  The S4> fans are 7 blades (vs 4/5 of the earlier cars) and should 
bolt directly into your shroud.
