Coupe won't start :-(

I finally finished (sort of) my 86 coupe GT rebuild today. The only
problem is that it won't start. First I will list what I have done:
rebuild complete engine and transaxle using all OEM parts including
ignition and fuel system
     new cooling system
     new A/C
all new bushings, mounts, ...suspension components
all new hydraulics (steering and brake systems)
The only thing I haven't done yet is interior and paint.

When I tried to start it, it turned over fine but wouldn't start. I opened
the line to the cold start valve and jumped the fuel pump relay to bleed out
air. The pump worked great. When I reinstalled the relay and tried to
start again, I couldn't hear the fuel pump run. After 5 minutes and another
attempt the pump would run for about 1 second then shut down. I figured
that it would at least kick over a few times but nothing. I put a timing
light on the coil wire to see if I was getting fire. Nothing. Then I put a
voltmeter on the coil. 12V at the + terminal but no discharge grounding at
the - terminal. I then put in another ignition module still nothing. the
only electrical connection that I can't find somewhere to plug in is near
the distributor. a black connector with 2 wires. I can't recall the colors
right now. There is also a long harness laying in the drivers floor with 2
wires and clear single connectors that I have no idea where they go and I
didn't disconnect them. They were there when I bought the car. All fuses
are good and in place including no. 24.

Any ideas as to where to start would be great. I was hoping to get to go
out on the boat this weekend, but it looks as though I will be under the
hood instead. Thanks for any and all help.
