Hi all,

I know this is one of those questions that comes up from time to time ,but please be patient. My brother in law had the motor in his 100 Q Avant rebuilt approx 20000 mils ago. He had a new block pistons etc and some work done on the head, the car now produces around 175 bhp with stainless exhuast. He has noticed that the car uses around 1 litre of per 1000 miles, sometimes a bit more if it's driven in traffic rather than the open road. Is this level of consumption normal? I can assure you that it was run in correctly. It seems to blow a little blue smoke when re applying the throttle after deceleration. Obviously he is a bit miffed that having spent a lot of cash on the rebuild he is in no better position than me with 106k. Thoughts please.
