Huw and I just worked our collective mojo on these last weekend, and the 
technique seemed to be

1.) Have strong person lift trunk and push it past where it would normally 
be at its highest.

2.) Unclip metal clip from strut.

3.) Do same for other end.

4.) Pull off.

5.) Reverse order to install.

Right, Huw?
