I chipped my 99 A6

I asked if anyone had tried this. No luck. I'm the guinea pig and just
installed a Neuspeed chip. I am pleased with the result. No, the A6
is not suddenly a BMW 540, but it is better than stock. Better low
end pull. According to the G-Tech, it nets 10 HP after the change. No
big deal. The real benefit is the transmission response. It now
downshifts smoothly! without having to press the gas pedal waaaay
down. That alone is worth the price. The car doesn't feel as bog
slow as it did before. In Tip mode, shifts are about twice as fast as
they were, making the shifto-matic much more fun to use. In sum, I'd
do it again. Oh, no side effects (yet), everything works as it did,
no check engine lights etc. The chip I got is for engines with AH on
the brain box. My 99 2.8 has this controller. The chip is a solder in
job so unless you have a fancy soldering station, get someone else
to do it for you.
