As far as I know (I deal with AC and cooling system as a profession), ACR 4
(also known as Robin air and a few other names)the leading charging system
for 134A system uses 2 (TWO) connections to the AC system. One connection is
to the "high side" (high pres. side of the AC system) and one connection to
the "low side" (low pres. side of the AC system), it is almost impossible to
diagnose an AC system without readings from the high side and the low side.
Whether it is R12 or 134A there is no change in the basics of an automotive
AC system.

Most all of the R-134A charging stations now adays only require one fitting,
the A/C is drained, whatever is wrong is fixed and then the machine pumps in
a fixed weight of refrigerant into the system the the customer cooly drives
off...
