re:90Q Sunroof Problem
Okey, here I am again.
I have been busy with my family and the holyday......ehh.. you know
what I mean...
My plan was to tear the whole thing apart, and to give you an
detailed repair instruction, but now I will just give you a quick
procedure.
I have an `90 90q, so my sunroof may be a littlebit different
than yours..... Anyway, here it comes:
When I opened the "sunroof motor cover" (Remove the lamp, and you
will find a screw over the bulb), I discovered an relay, two
microsvitces, some wheels`n gears and of corse the motor itself.
The problem turned out to be one of the microsvitches.
For a start I will recomed to take the entire motor
(and the sunroof(toggle)-switch and the relay) out of the car.
This is done by disconnecting some connectors and removing some
screws.
I took a small drill and drilled of the top of the pins that
hold the switches. Then I was able to pulle them off. Be
careful to drill of ONLY the top of the pins, you will need them to
reattach the switches later.
Then I opened the switches by prying off the top with a small
screwdriver. Be careful not to lose any of the small springs that
can pop out. I cleaned the contacts and put them back together.
To fasten the switches, I used two small screws that fitted in the
center of the little pins. The screws will force the pins to expand a
littlebit so that the switces will stay in place.
You may want to make sure you have them before you start to
drill.....
The install of the motor was simple, but you need to have the sunroof
in the exact closed-position. Press the sunroofbuttons until the
relay clicks (and the motor hopefully stops) and place the motor in
position. I used some time to get it in the exact position.
This is written from memory, so if you need more details just send
another request and I will open the cover again.
